TRADE NEWSPAPER | For the benefit! Now there is Riesling from China

Wine from the Middle Kingdom? That sounds exotic to many, questionable to some. But excellent for more and more wine drinkers. A recommendation.

Cabernet Blanc from Château Changyu? A Château Lafite Rothschild from the Shandong region? Riesling (雷司令) from Ningxia? Chinese wine – yes, that works. It doesn't always have to be the good old world of wine. Particularly in the Ningxia region, next to the Gobi Desert, a wine region is emerging that can easily compete with the established wine regions of the world.

Typisch: Château Changyu Moser XV

This wine has a unique characteristic: firstly because of the red grapes, which are processed like white wine. And therefore bring a pale yellow-copper color to the wine. Secondly, because of aromas of lychee, peach, berries and citrus. Dry-aged, little residual sugar, complex yet light, rather low in acidity with well-integrated alcohol. A harmonious finish that stays not only on the tongue but also in the memory.
